Van Alstyne Great Days of Service is a non-profit service organization formed by the Van
Alstyne Ministerial Alliance in 2000 and is dedicated to assisting those who may be
physically or financially unable to provide needed home repairs or improvements. Our
service area now extends beyond the city limits of Van Alstyne to the boundaries of the
Van Alstyne Independent School District. |

Great
Days of Service is a cooperative effort among churches, businesses, service organizations
and community volunteers. Every year since 2000, volunteers from our community and partner
churches have worked side by side to help their neighbors. Civic organizations and
businesses in our community support this effort both financially and by supplying
volunteer workers.
The board of Great Days of Service is seeking your assistance in
this year's event. You may help us by suggesting those who may me in need, volunteer for
service during the event, make a financial contribution, or otherwise assist in the
support of this important local activity.

Great Days of Service (GDOS) 2009 Next Group Meeting
When: Thursday, July 23th
Time: 7pm
Where: Community Bible Church (On South Hwy 5 at County Line Rd.)
We are looking for individuals who would be interested in
being a leader for a GDOS 2009 committee. Many committees to choose from
(prayer, food, t-shirts, evaluations, supplies, communications,and many many
more)
We are starting coordination efforts for GDOS and we NEEDS YOU in order to have an
effective and successful year!

Dates and Places of importance
All Project Requests must be submitted by August 15th.
Breakfast will be served at 7:30am and Lunch will be at
12:30pm at Home Base Church for that week.
Home Base Church for September 19th will be First United
Methodist Church with meals being provided by First United Methodist Church. (Directions)
Home Base Church for September 26th will be First Baptist
Church with meals being provide by First Baptist Church. (Directions)
When you volunteer you will not be
contacted about where to report on your work day. You will need to be at the base church
for that Saturday by 8:00am for AM service and 1:00pm for PM service. All worker are
invited to Breakfast and Lunch.
